Nottingham Nurse Surgery Course

This course was set up by sister Gillian Godsell OBE, MSc in 2003 and I have been lead clinician since 2005.

This course is primarily for nurses in dermatology (both primary and secondary care) and teaches hands-on practical surgical skills including simple excisions, biopsy (punch, shave and curette) and suturing techniques. The course also covers the legal aspects such as consent, liability and documentation. It is a 2 day course consisting of lectures and practical sessions. Excellent feedback is always attained and thus far 260 nurses have been trained.

For further details contact Sister Gillian Godsell gill.godsell@nuh.nhs.uk

Date of next course 17-18th September 2009
